Are you a little nervous about your upcoming exam? Not sure what to expect? Well, here are a few ways to prepare for your test. You want to be able to relax and de-stress before taking your test so that your mind is clear and you're not overly worried or focused on other things while you are trying to test.

Study Well

In the months leading up to the test, you should study well. You will be much better off if you study ahead of time. If you wait until the last minute, you will end up being extremely stressed out and the likelihood is that you'll end up doing poorly on your test. Study well beforehand instead of trying to cram when it's finally time for your test.

Get a Good Night's Sleep

The night before the test should never be a night you spend cramming. Instead, you should try to relax and do something fun - maybe a family movie night. Make sure you get to bed early, though, or you'll spend the next morning paying for your late hours. A good night's sleep is essential to your success. Sleep deprivation is one of the greatest killers of scores on any test. And with the first five questions of your GMAT being so important, you want to be ready and rested when your test starts the next morning.

Get Up Early

You want to give yourself more than enough time to get ready, eat breakfast, and drive to the testing center. Nothing can ruin your morning more than fighting traffic on your way to the test center. Plus, if you show up more than 15 minutes late for your appointment, you may not be allowed to take your test and you may not be able to receive a refund on your fees.

Eat Breakfast

You've heard it from your teachers, your mom, and your doctor - always eat a good breakfast. Eating a healthy meal can start off your day right. Don't eat anything too heavy that will make your stomach hurt, but you also don't want your stomach to be growling and distracting you and others as you test.

Dress Comfortably

There's no way of knowing what the temperature will be like in the testing center. Wear comfortable clothes and bring layers so that you can take off or put on depending on the test center temperature. An uncomfortable outfit or poorly heated testing environment can greatly affect your scores.

Take a Snack

When you have set breaks in the testing, youare allowed to walk around outside and eat a snack. Take a light snack, including some water or Gatorade, with you into the Test Center. There will be a specific place outside the testing room where you can leave this and your other personal items. This snack will keep you going during a long day of testing.

Stretch

Take advantage of those stretch breaks. Getting up and moving around will help you think more clearly. With a little snack and some movement, you should be in good shape to go back in the Testing Room and finish up your test successfully.

Success in These Steps

If you follow these steps, you will be more likely to succeed. You will have studied early, rested well, eaten well, and dressed comfortably. Plus, you'll know that the best thing you can do is to take advantage of your stretch breaks by eating a snack and stretching. All this may sound simple but it's important for your success on test day.
